About Hermès

Hermès, which is popular for its leather products such as bags and wallets, has its origins when the first Thierry Hermès founded a high-quality horse harness manufacturing atelier on Rue Basse du Rempart in the Madeleine district of Paris. Since then, it has boasted high technology.
Thierry's grandson, Emile-Maurice Hermès, is the third generation to diversify his business in line with the changing times. In 1892, Hermès introduced his first bag, the Sac Hautacroix, by making use of the harness making techniques he had cultivated up until then. Originally a saddle bag to store a horse's saddle, it was later reborn as a ``Birkin'' after an encounter between the president of Hermès and Jane Birkin. Hermès developed a wide variety of products, including leather goods such as gloves and belt watches, the Chaine d'Incre bracelet in 1938, and the Bugatti (later Bolide) large bag for luxury cars in 1920. I did. Furthermore, we introduced scarves and perfumes, solidifying our brand value.
In 1935, he released ``Sac-a-Croix.'' This bag gained recognition after Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, wore it during her pregnancy, and it was renamed the Kelly Bag.

Hermès Emile Morris Hermès, the third generation founder of Hermès, paved the way for the present with innovative ideas that defy common sense. One of these was the introduction of the Bugatti, a large bag for luxury cars, in 1920. The name "Bugatti" came from the similarity between the radiator of the French luxury car "Bugatti" and the shape of the bag, and from the anticipated popularization of the car. Hermès In 1923, the name was changed to Bolide, which was also derived from the luxury car, and it quickly became popular.

    Hermès Margiela period
There was a time when Martin Margiela, a Belgian fashion designer with the same name and famous for his own brand, Maison Martin Margiela, served as a ladies' ready-to-wear designer for Hermès from 1997 to 2003. That period is commonly known as the "Margiela period" and is still popular today. The belt design "Double Tour", which is also used in the bracelet that is currently a collaboration between Apple's Apple watch and Hermès, and the "Valouse" design, which has a deep neck that allows women to put on and take off without disturbing their hair. Produced many masterpieces. The design of "Martin Margiela", which is off-mode and avant-garde, has drawn a line with luxurious Hermès.

Thoughts embedded in the Hermès logo
The Hermès logo, which began with luxury harnesses, depicts a carriage and attendants. However, the master who rides the carriage is not drawn. This means that "Hermès will prepare a carriage of the highest quality, but it is up to you to control it." In other words, it is up to us to use the best products.
In addition, the reason why Hermès' image color is orange is that during the war, wrapping paper was not available, and orange wrapping paper was used instead. Because it was so popular, it was established as "Hermès Orange".
