Watch repair and maintenance
WATCHNIAN Group has an in-house watch workshop, where experienced craftsmen repair, overhaul, and polish (finish) watches.
The watches we sell are also inspected by professionals before being displayed in stores, so you can use them with confidence even if they are Used items.
Here we will explain the repair, maintenance, and other services provided by WATCHNIAN.
watch repair
We can accept both watches purchased from us and watches purchased at other stores for a fee.
If a problem occurs within the warranty period, we will keep your watch and after confirming the situation, we will make a decision based on our warranty regulations.Please refer to your watch warranty for details regarding repairs within the warranty period.
*Please note that some watches may not be accepted.
*We cannot repair or maintain products other than watches (bags, jewelry, wallets, etc.).
*Depending on the nature of the defect, we may send the product to the manufacturer for repair with your consent. If you cancel the repair for your own reasons after we have accepted the request for repair from the manufacturer, you will be responsible for the handling fee of 5,500 yen (tax included) and the round-trip shipping fee.
watch maintenance
We can provide maintenance (overhauls, battery replacements, etc.) for both watches purchased from our company and those purchased from other stores, for a fee.
If WATCHNIAN member requests maintenance for a watch purchased from WATCHNIAN, we will offer a 20% discount off the regular price.

*If an overhaul is performed by the manufacturer, the charge will be the manufacturer's repair fee plus our handling fee, rather than our specified fee listed above.
*High-end watches may require manufacturer support. Multi-function models require manufacturer support.
Examples of high-end watches: Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Piaget, Breguet, Planpin, etc.
*Due to circumstances such as parts procurement, watches from brands other than those listed above may also be handled by the manufacturer.
*Repairs, finishing, and battery replacements are not eligible for Antique watches purchased from other companies and cannot be accepted.

⚫︎What is watch overhaul?
This refers to maintenance to ensure the performance of a watch and extend its life. Specifically, this refers to the work of disassembling a watch, inspecting and cleaning each part, repairing or replacing it as necessary, and reassembling it. If not overhauled, the lack of lubricating oil will cause parts to wear out, reducing the precision of the clock, and in severe cases, causing the clock to stop working.The rubber gasket that prevents water from entering may deteriorate, reducing its waterproof performance, and causing water to leak inside the machine. This may cause a malfunction. We recommend regular overhauls every 3 to 5 years, especially for high-end mechanical watches and Antique watches.

Battery replacement fee
Battery replacement applies to quartz watches other than Antique watches.
If it is within the warranty period, the first battery replacement will be free of charge. Please check the watch warranty page for information on watch warranties.

When requesting delivery
In the case of paid repairs not covered by the warranty, the customer will be responsible for the shipping costs. Please note. We will bear the shipping fee for returning the product after repair.
In the case of free repair within the warranty period, the round-trip shipping fee will be borne by our company. After we take your watch in and check its condition, we will decide whether it can be repaired or not and the price according to our guarantee policy.

Causes and symptoms of common watch malfunctions
The clock doesn't work
Is the crown left pulled out? Or is the mainspring not wound enough? Please fully wind the mainspring for both Automatic winding and manual winding before use. In the case of quartz, there is a high possibility that the battery is dead.
The timing when the date changes is strange
The switching timing varies depending on the internal machine, with some models switching around midnight, and others gradually completing switching between 11:30 pm and 3 am. If the time changes around 12:00 noon, the time may be set about 12 hours apart. Please manually advance the time by 12 hours and reset the correct time.
the date is wrong
Except for some models equipped with special mechanisms, manual calendar adjustment is required for the last day of February, April, June, September, and November.
The dial is cloudy
Clouding may have occurred due to sudden temperature changes indoors and outdoors. In this case, it is a temporary phenomenon that will be resolved immediately, but if the cloudiness does not disappear for a long time, repair will be required. If you suspect that water has gotten inside the watch, please request repair immediately.
wet with water
Even if it is waterproof, sweat and moisture can cause rust, dirt, and problems. If it gets wet, wipe it off with a dry cloth and place it in a well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
When I shake my watch, it makes a strange sound
In the case of a self-winding watch, there is a rotating sound when the internal mechanical rotor rotates and winds the mainspring. Some movements may make loud noises, but this is not a malfunction. If the oil inside the machine runs out, it will not rotate smoothly and may make abnormal noises, so maintenance is required. If you hear irregular noises, there may be damage to parts, so we recommend that you have the product inspected as soon as possible.
