The beginning of OMEGA is a workshop founded by watchmaker Louis Blanc in 1848. The workshop was then relocated to its current base, Bienne, by the Blanc's descendants.
At the time when manual work was the mainstream of watchmaking, OMEGA was the first in the era to introduce machines to improve efficiency. In just 50 years since its founding, it has grown into one of Switzerland's leading watchmakers, producing 100,000 watches annually.

In 1983, when the Swiss watch industry was hit hard by the rise of quartz watches, it joined the world's largest watchmaking group, the Swatch Group. Until now, they continue to protect the brand.

OMEGA watches are known worldwide for their high quality and precision. They have been in charge of the official clock of the Olympic Games, which requires high accuracy, many times since the 1932 Los Angeles Games. Through the tournament, they made the world recognize the "high-precision Omega". Omega is also the official timekeeper at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Its excellent accuracy is also recognized by NASA. The astronaut who landed on the moon by Apollo 11 in 1965 wore Omega's "Speedmaster". With overwhelming reliability, it is a brand that has been adopted in a wide range of scenes, from dress watches and diver watches, and even to space expedition.

The OMEGA collection is broadly divided into four parts, all of which are well known. Born in 1948, the 100th anniversary of OMEGA, "Seamaster" has gained popularity as a professional diver's watch. It was used in the movie "007" in 1995, and is now famous as "Bond Watch".
