OMEGA

The beginning of OMEGA is a workshop founded by watchmaker Louis Blanc in 1848. The workshop was then relocated to its current base, Bienne, by the Blanc's descendants.
At the time when manual work was the mainstream of watchmaking, OMEGA was the first in the era to introduce machines to improve efficiency. In just 50 years since its founding, it has grown into one of Switzerland's leading watchmakers, producing 100,000 watches annually.

In 1983, when the Swiss watch industry was hit hard by the rise of quartz watches, it joined the world's largest watchmaking group, the Swatch Group. Until now, they continue to protect the brand.

オメガの腕時計は、高品質かつ高精度なことで世界的に知られています。高い精度が要求されるオリンピックの公式時計を、1932年のロサンゼルス大会から幾度となく担当。大会を通じて「高精度のオメガ」を世界中に知らしめました。東京2020大会でも、オメガは公式タイムキーパーを務めています。

また、その優れた精度はNASAにも評価されており、1965年にアポロ11号で月面着陸した宇宙飛行士も、オメガの「スピードマスター」を着用していました。圧倒的な信頼感を備えていて、ドレスウォッチやダイバーウォッチ、果ては宇宙開発まで、幅広いシーンで採用されているブランドです。
