A wide variety of lineups is also a feature of the Seiko brand. Grand Seiko has three types of watches: the “Heritage Collection” for business models, the “Elegance Collection” for formal occasions, and the “Sports Collection” for outstanding durability. In 1969, Seiko released the world's first quartz wristwatch, the Quartz Astron. The birth of the quartz wristwatch, which boasts extremely high precision, is also called the "quartz shock," and shook the Swiss watch industry, which is crowded with the world's leading manufacturers.
As quartz watches gained momentum, Grand Seiko resumed production in the mid-1990s in preparation for a revival of mechanical watches. In 1998, the mechanical Grand Seiko was revived. After that, it became a hot topic for developing a new movement "9R Spring Drive" that fused mechanical and quartz technology. Even now, it is highly regarded all over the world for its high technology.

Seiko has a history of more than 140 years and is known as a pioneer of domestic watch makers. The mother of the brand is "Seikosha", which was founded in 1892 for the purpose of watchmaking. In 1913, the first domestically produced wristwatch "Laurel" was announced, and in 1924, the Seiko brand was launched.

Grand Seiko was born in 1960 with the aim of becoming the finest domestic watch, and is Seiko's flagship model. We have announced one after another the first domestically produced chronograph, a wristwatch with a world time display, and the world's first GPS solar watch, and have continued to produce innovative wristwatches since their birth.
