Some fans lamented this as a sign of the times, but the larger diameter of the dial led to improved visibility, and the adoption of a bracelet made entirely of solid wood, an original hairspring, and Cal. 3132 with a shock-resistant device made this the best Explorer ever made.
In 2016, Chromalight luminous material was added to the 3, 6, and 9 indexes on the dial, and the minute hand was extended to reach the seconds track on the outer edge of the dial. Production continued until 2020.
