About reference 14060
Submariner 14060 Rolex
What is Reference 14060?
Ref.14060 is a non-date model without a date display function that was born as a successor to Ref.5513, and is a 5-digit reference Submariner. It was manufactured between 1989 and 2000. By changing the plastic Crystal used in Ref.5513 to sapphire crystal, it has achieved water resistance from 200m to 300m. In addition, by changing from a bidirectional rotating bezel to a unidirectional rotating bezel, it is now possible to measure diving time and decompression stops more accurately and safely, enhancing the practicality of a diver's watch.
In 1998, the luminous paint was changed from tritium to Superluminova. In the conventional Submariner, Superluminova is used even though the dial notation at 6 o'clock on the dial reads "SWISS-T<25" indicating that tritium is used for the luminous paint. There is a rare vintage model number U called "Tritinova".

What is Ref.14060M
Ref.14060M is a non-date model without a date display function and a 5-digit reference Submariner following Ref.14060. It was manufactured from 2000 to 2011. Since movement Cal.3000 changed to Cal.3130 in 2001, the letter M was added after the reference number. Rolex received chronometer certification in 2007 and began to appear on the dial, but between 2000 and 2007 Ref.14060M also has non-certified non-chronometers. From around 1989, a double bridge supported by two bridges instead of a single bridge was adopted, and it is also used for Ref.14060M. This is the last sports Rolex with an aluminum bezel.
