Bright green and gold "Daytona 116508"
Product name: Cosmograph Daytona 116508
Reference budget: 7 to 10 million yen
Popular generations: 20s/30s/40s/50s/60s
The Cosmograph Daytona has a striking contrast between the yellow gold of the case and bracelet and the vivid green of the dial. Rolex watches that use green, the brand color, are popular without exception, but when it comes to the most popular Daytona, it's inevitable that it will command a premium price. It's hard to find an actual model, and production has already ended, so it's one of the models I'm interested in seeing in the future.

The Daytona 116509: Understated yet with a striking presence
Product name: Cosmograph Daytona 116509
Reference budget: 5 to 9 million yen
Popular generations: 20s/30s/40s/50s/60s
A white gold Daytona with a steel and black dial. The combination of a white gold exterior and a monotone dial would give a modest impression on an ordinary watch, but the Daytona has a different presence.
Because regular white gold has a low hardness, it is often surface-treated with Rhodium plating, but Rolex's proprietary white gold does not require this, and you can enjoy the low-center-of-gravity shine that is unique to white gold.

Rolex's Icon "Daytona 116500LN"
Product name: Cosmograph Daytona 116500LN
Reference budget: 4 to 5 million yen
Popular generation: 20s/30s/40s
The Daytona was released in 2016, featuring the Cerachrom bezel for the first time and with a minor change to the dial. The black dial has always been more popular, but the white dial has surpassed the black dial in popularity due to the excellent compatibility between the blackened edges of the sub-dials and the white dial. The short production period of only seven years is also one of the reasons for its popularity.

The innovative movement of the millennium: the Daytona 116520
Product name: Cosmograph Daytona 116520
Reference budget: 3 to 4 million yen
Popular generations: 20s/30s/40s/50s/60s
This Daytona was released in 2000 equipped with the Cal. 4130, a long-cherished in-house chronograph movement. The hands and indexes were made thicker overall to improve visibility, but the appearance was merely a minor change. It should be highly praised for being ahead of the trends in 21st century mechanical chronographs, such as the vertical clutch chronograph mechanism and 72-hour power reserve.

El Primero and Rolex's Masterpiece "Daytona 16520"
Product name: Cosmograph Daytona 16520
Reference budget: 3 to 4 million yen
Popular generations: 20s/30s/40s/50s/60s
This is the first Automatic winding model, finally realized in 1988, with the famous movement El Primero supplied by Zenith. Rolex replaced more than half of the parts to create their own Cal. 4030, but it is worth noting that they managed to achieve the high precision that is characteristic of Rolex by reducing the frequency from 10 vibrations per second to 8 vibrations per second to improve durability. Another feature of the Ref. 16520 is that there are many rare versions born from early trial and error.
