深海での使用にも耐えられる腕時計として、コメックスとの共同開発で生まれたシードゥエラー。サブマリーナよりもケースが厚く防水性に優れており、1967年の発売時点で既に610mの防水性能を達成していました。1978年に登場したモデルは1220m、2008年に発表されたディープシーは3900mもの防水性能を誇るなど、ロレックスの技術力の高さを知らしめるモデルのひとつです。
2017年に誕生した現行モデルは、カレンダーの視認性を高めるサイクロップレンズを搭載するなど、いまだ進化を続けています。
